workshop you will be shown how to build a profile that will attract the kind of
attention you want, whether as a job seeker, or a student needing an
internship. You'll learn how to create, grow, and evolve your profile, known in
the industry as your personal brand. We’ll discuss the importance of connecting
with other professionals and take steps toward building your network. You’ll
learn how to take advantage of groups, both as a member and as a group owner.
We’ll then learn how to find jobs using LinkedIn and reveal some of the
techniques used to attract recruiters.
Debra Caires is a lecturer in the Computer Science
Department at San Jose State, where she teaches innovative technical writing
courses and is the director of the internship program.
