Summary
of Program
For SJSU students to thrive in the highly competitive global
economy, it is critical to develop international perspectives and knowledge. To
this end, a collaboration was launched in 2006 with
the Board of Higher Education of the Canton of Vaud,
Produce globally prepared students able to collaborate across geographical, cultural, and linguistic boundaries.
Provide students with a network of peers for possible future collaborations.
Provide a new skill set in communication not usually found in the academic setting.
A select group of students participate in the Summer University program, identified by faculty and leadership from the participating Universities. There are at least ten students from each of the universities equaling 50-70 students who are considered high potential students. Selection is based on academic record and experience.
These are students who have chosen to devote their summer to learning about topics that might not be covered in a traditional curriculum. These are students who have chosen to devote their summer to becoming more prepared to work in an international environment. As a sponsor, you have the undivided attention of all of these students.

As the team sponsor, your donation will pay for housing for all ten students from SJSU. Students will wear the sponsor's logo during the opening and closing ceremonies and will be identified as members of the sponsor's team.
The sponsor will host a mixer (pizza and soft drinks) where all 50 – 70 students in the program will hear from and meet with the sponsor's recruiters. This will be an exclusive event, no other recruiters will participate.
News of the sponsor's donation will appear in SJSU Today (http://blogs.sjsu.edu/today/) where it may be picked up by other newspapers.
Sponsor's engineers will be given an opportunity to present a one hour technical talk to all 50 – 70 participants.

The sponsor's team will give a joint presentation on their activities (what they learned, how the program helped them, why future students should participate, etc.) The presentation will be given during the following Fall semester.
The sponsor's team will maintain a blog during the program. Team members will post photos and descriptions of activities on the blog. The blog will clearly be labeled with the sponsor's logo.
