Program for Future Open Source Developers
Program seeks web projects from corporations and non-profits
Cupertino, Calif., May 14, 2007 – Initsoft Web Solutions, a leading developer of open-source web applications, is co-sponsoring a paid internship program with the Computer Science (CS) department of San Jose State University (SJSU).
The program will give students supervised experience in programming web applications by improving on existing software. Students will learn how to cooperate with other developers to fulfill common goals, and integrate themselves into the online open source community.
To start the program, Initsoft and the CS department at SJSU are seeking one or two website or intranet projects from local corporations and non-profit organizations. The program hopes to employ up to four students this summer and plans to be an on-going employment opportunity for students.
