The test is designed to take the entire class period, so you may leave
when you are finished (but not while people are still arriving).

Each section of the test will be worth 100 points.  Each day's exam will
be worth 60 points (3 questions of 20 points each).  I will drop the
lowest of your 6 grades for each section of the test.  Remember that I
don't assign the letter grades for any portion of the test.

I will try to start a few minutes early and end a few minutes late.  In
fairness to those who need to be somewhere else, "few" means "very few".

No calculators are allowed.

Please answer the questions on separate sheets of paper, rather than on
the test sheet.  I normally bring some paper for those who forget to bring
their own.

I don't need the test sheet back (unless there is something on it that you
want me to see).  Solutions to each day's test will be posted shortly
after the test is given.

It's best to show your work where appropriate, unless you are completely
sure of your answer.  This sort of exam relies heavily on partial credit.

Please ask me if you are unsure about what a question is asking.  If you
come to me after a test and say "If I had understood this question, I
would have been able to answer it", then there's no fair thing to do.  
It's not fair to give you the points, and not fair not to.  It's best not
to let the situation arise in the first place.
