   In some cases, a given exercise will ask you to use
an algorithm from the text, while an alternate algorithm
was presented in class.  In these cases, feel free to use
either algorithm.

   Many of the problems labeled "also useful" are harder
or more time-consuming than anything you will be asked
to do in class
