Problem set #2 due:        Thursday, March 10
   NOTE:  THERE WILL BE NO LATENESS PENALTY FOR PROBLEMS 
2 & 3.  All solutions must still be submitted by March 15 
to receive credit

  Coverage:  Chapter 3
   except 3.3 & 3.4.5-3.4.7
   Chapter 4 except
   4.2.2-4.2.4
  Recall that we are using
   somewhat different
   algorithms than 
   Sections 3.2 and 4.4
  You still need to know
   the material for 
   Test #1, but it won't 
   be emphasized.

  Emphasis on new material
   from Sections 5.1-5.2.2, 5.4, and 6.1-6.3.1
  You should also know the material covered on Tests 1 & 2

Problem set #4 due:        Thursday, April 28
Test #4:                   Tuesday, May 10
  Emphasis on new material
   from Sections 6.3.2, 6.4.1-6.4.3, 7.1, 7.2.3 (Example 7.19 only),
     7.3.2 (Theorem 7.24, parts 1-3 only), 7.3.4, 7.4.3-7.4.5, and 
     Chapter 8 (only how to run a Turing Machine on a given input string).
  For Sections 6.4.2 and 6.4.3 you need only know the main results.
  You should also know the material covered on Tests 1-3

Last day of class:         Tuesday, May 17
Problem set #5 due:        Tuesday, May 17
  Problems #3 and #4 may be turned in for full credit by the
end of the review session on May 18.  No problems will be
graded that are turned in after that time.
