Tentative schedule, CS 146, Fall 2002 Test 2 will cover Appendix B, Sections 4.4-4.7, Sections 6.1-6.4, and all of Chapter 7 except for Section 7.9. Only the highlights of Sections 7.4, 7.8, and 7.10 will be covered (e.g, the proofs in Section 7.8 will not be covered). The emphasis will be on the material not covered on Test 1. Test 3 will concentrate on the material covered since Test 2. This is primarily from Sections 7.9, 8.2-8.6 (except union-by-height), 9.1 (including 9.1.1), 9.3.2, 9.3.5, 9.5, 9.5.2, and 10.3.4. The final exam will cover the above material, plus Section 9.7, Chapter 5, and the material from Chapter 9 covered in the last lecture. It will also assume familiarity with the programming assignments. Review session There will be a review session from 7 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. (or until everyone is satisfied) on Wednesday, December 11, in the usual 7 p.m. classroom. The review session for the 2:30 section will be the last day of class (December 9). My office hours durign finals week will be: Monday, December 9: 4-5 & 6-7 (as usual) Tuesday, December 10: 1:30-2:30 Wednesday, December 11: 4-5 (as well as the review session above) Monday, December 16: 4-5 & 6:30-7:30 or by appointment Final Exams 2:30 section: Thursday, December 12, 12:15-2:30 p.m. 7:00 section: Monday, December 16, 7:45-10:00 p.m. If there is space available, you make take any of the exams, including the final exam, with either section. Please check with me first to verify that space is available. The exams will be held in the regular classrooms.
