Generalising Traditional Wiki Systems to New Media Page Formats

Description:

Wiki Systems are usually a website application that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users, they make it quick and easy to write information on web pages, facilitate communication and discussion, since it's easy for those who are reading a wiki page to edit that page themselves and they allow for quick and easy linking between wiki pages, including pages that don't yet exist on the wiki. In this way wiki systems can benefit a small business, school, your personal life, and anything else. Yioop is an open source, PHP search engine that can be configured to allow users to create discussion groups, blogs, wikis etc. The goal of this project is introduce new different modern media formats like url-shortners and pastebins to traditional wikisystems like Yioop to improve colloboration.

Deliverables:

The full project will be done when CS298 is completed. The following will be done by the end of CS297:

1. Add a predefined group for users in Yioop to support direct messaging.

2. Generate Url-shorteners for Wiki Pages on Yioop.

3. Paste-bin for Yioop to review source code or configure information on Yioop.

4. A mechanism to add details to media list items.
