Bio: Aaron Jensen
Aaron Jensen is a graduating senior at SJSU. He is currently working on a BS in Computer Science and minors in Mathematics and Electronics. He originally focused on a Music Education degree at DVC and was a founding father and Alpha-class Brother of the Mu Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. He switched to a Computer Science focus in 2009, re-evaluating his career options after three years of teaching music at high schools and the Blue Devils "B" Drum and Bugle Corps. He transferred to SJSU in the Fall of 2011 after earning a AS in Computer Science and two certificates at DVC. He is very interested in the field of Mechatronics: a blend of mechanical, electrical and software engineering that designs and creates "smart" control systems. He is currently working on building a cheap 3D Scanner that interfaces with Android for another class.
During the summer of 2012, Aaron was selected to attend Summer University in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland. Earlier that year, he received the Cisco IT Scholar Award. In Spring 2013, he was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Outside of school, Aaron works three jobs: the worship leader for Resurrection Lutheran Church (7 years), chief software engineer and founder of a startup "Wifidisplays" (3 years) and runs his own business for contract work "ODINITE Software, LLC" (2 years). At the startup, he has primarily focused on Android programming, but has switched over to Linux server scripting recently.
Aaron's hobbies include hobby electronics, baking bread, cooking, music, and playing videogames when he gets the chance. He is very proud of successfully cooking a birthday cake in a Weber BBQ for a friend during a power outage in a snowstorm.
