Planning algorithm code printout submitted to Dr.Pollett for checking whether it is properly coded.
Planning algorithm coded with a few bugs in conflict detection and backtracking part of the code. Designing a plan with conflicts is ready without bugs.
Coded part of the planner, but conflict detection, backtracking/conflict resolution is remaining. Discussed the way to do it with Dr.Pollett.
Completed coding the ordered todos/actions according to the before/after specifications. The algorithm is still left to be coded.
2 major tasks remaining, coding the Planner alongwith reordering the ToDos, and also coding the Groups part of the project. There were also some UI changes suggested.
I have to continue to complete coding the forms along with the introduction of ajax to the project
Dr.Pollett has instructed me to remove the hard coded columns in the database and make the database such that it will handle any kind of use cases, which will also suffice for preconditions as well as effects of an action. Also he has instructed a few changes in the layout of the web page.
Dr.Pollett and me designed the ToDo list page which is the most important page in this web site. It is a tentative design. Hopefully with not too many changes this will be the final ToDo page. Also I was told to ensure that all the pages will validate according to XHTML 1.1 standards. There were many more outcomes of this meting such as Layout change and naming changes.
Dr.Pollett permitted me to skip the meeting, as I was sick.
Dr.Pollett has told me to start coding the forms including the home page and login page, without making the database perfect, because the database will anyways have to be changed once the forms are coded. I have also been instructed the task on researchin on what will be the ideal way to store rules and todo items in the database. It is optional for me whether I want to look at Maude SRI.
Dr.Pollett has told me to modify the Entity relationship Diagram and convert into an Extended Entity Relationship Diagram. After this I have been instructed to map the diagram to the database. Also I have been instructed to code the front end UI pages including the home page, and login page.
Dr.Pollett read the CS 298 proposal and has suggested a few changes to be made so that I can mail the final draft to Dr.Horstmann. Also, he has told me to investigate the mapping of multivalued attributes from the Entity Relationship diagram to the creation of the database.
Dr.Pollett guided me on what type of contents the proposal should contain. I asked him many questions on a few specifications about the system. Also I told him that I will begin the final implementation with the structure of the database.
Dr.Pollett has instructed me to get all the pages that I upload on his website validating. Also changes to the report, update the proposal and complete Deliverable 4 by next week.
Dr.Pollett approved the coded Partial Order Planner, but has told me to apply many more test cases to it. Also he has told me to make it object oriented in nature.
Dr.Pollett not happy with the UI sketches, tells me to use Drupal and get ideas from there. The reason for this being that the system is collaborative and the sketches did not show any signs of it being that way. Also, Dr. Pollett instructs me to immediately start working and complete the Partial Order Planner or else I won't complete all the deliverables on time
Change of plan, Deliverable 2 and 3 combined to code up a Partial Order Planner. By next week, get rough sketches of UI, for Deliverable 4. The original deliverable 2 has been altered so that progress is not halted due to software issues.

Dr.Pollett has told me to accelerate the rate of implementing the planner
Dr.Pollett suggested me a few parsing techniques which will help me get into implementing the algorithm quickly. Also he explained to me the algorithm again

My discussion with Dr.Pollett started with me showing him my slides on Total Order Planning and Partial Order Planning. He found many syntactic and semantic mistakes in my slides and told me to rectify the same. Also he told me start working on my first deliverable, which was to develop a Total Order PLanner
Dr.Pollett instructed me to make a few slides on Total Order Planning and Partial Order Planning, and give a presentation on the same for next week.
