·
The
schedule of short courses won't be available until April or May.
·
Probably
there will be eight courses divided into four groups of two courses each.
·
Group
I and II courses will be taught during the first two weeks (July 5 – July 16).
·
Group
III and IV courses will be taught during the second two weeks (July 19 – July
30)
·
Prior
to departure students will select one course from each group. This means that a
student will take two courses during the first two weeks and two courses during
the second two weeks.
·
Note:
While it is probable that students will get the courses they select, it is not
guaranteed.
·
Prior
course offerings (which will probably be similar this year) included: security,
bioinformatics, agent-based systems, ubiquitous computing, web development, and
open source development.
·
Each
course will meet for 12 hours spread out over two weeks. This includes lectures
and labs, but does not include homework.
·
Each
course meets twice per day (not counting weekends and excursion days). A typical
day is divided into four lecture/lab meetings. For example:
Meeting I: 9:30 – 10:15
(course A)
Coffee
Meeting II: 10:30 – 12:00 (course A)
Lunch
Meeting III: 13:15 – 14:45 (course B)
Coffee
Meeting IV: 15:00 – 16:30 (course B)
·
Students
can get a better idea of the courses and schedule by looking at the schedule
from summer
2009.
·
Students
will receive a 0% – 100% grade for each course they sign up for. For SJSU
students these grades will be averaged together. Students above some minimum
passing grade (70% for example) will receive credit for CS180 in Fall 2010.
This is optional. Students must sign up for CS180 in the fall if they want
the credit.
·
CS180
can be used as an elective course for graduate and undergraduate students.
·
STUDENTS
ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND ALL MEETINGS OF ALL COURSES THEY SIGN UP FOR.
·
STUDENTS
ARE REQUIRED TO ABIDE BY SJSU ACADEMIC INTEGRITY GUIDELINES.
