Here is the scheme I will use for determining your final grades:
Workbench.......................... 45%
Workbench Documentation............ 5%
Component.......................... 35%
Component Documentation............ 5%
Participation
Meetings........................ 4%
Online.......................... 3%
Tools.............................. 3%
There will be no final exam. Instead, each team will do a 30 minute demo (6 minutes/component + 6 minutes for the workbench) during the final exam period from 9:45 – 12 on May 22. At this time an executable form of the workbench plus components should be made available on a CD or via download from CVS Dude.
All documentation must be submitted on the last day of class, Monday May 14.
Each team member will get the same workbench and workbench documentation grade unless the team decides to assign percentages to the contribution of individual members. For example, if one member didn't do as much as the others, then the team may decide this member should only get 75% of the team grade. In this case contact me with the percentages I should use.
The component score will reflect both the quality and complexity of the component.
The schedule for May 22:
9:45 – 10:20 Crazy 88
10:20 – 10:55 8 Drunken Masters
10:55 – 11:30 Deadly Viper Squad
11:30 – 12:05 Jokerz
So that's 35 minutes/team, or approximately 8 minutes per component. Rehearse your demo to make sure it fits into 8 minutes.
I don't want to see code, tests, or documentation. I only want to see the workbench and components running off of a single CD, which I get to keep.
Begin by loading a file containing the demo already in progress. Open multiple views of the demos to show view updating. Your demo should be interesting and realistic. For example, a Spread Sheet demo might show a complicated budget.
Make a few changes to the model, then show that these changes can be saved to a file and read back again.
Rehearse your demo!
