Grading: Your grade will be calculated as follows:
 
Homework 10 percent
Quizzes 20 percent
Mid Term Exam 30 percent (October 2)
Final Exam 40 percent (December 16 1715 - 1930)

Final exam time changes, with instructor approval only. No individual changes will be considered after November 27.

All exams are closed book, closed notes. While homework assignments will have you practice many details, the exams will cover the material that I think you should know "by heart." No late homework will be accepted. There will be no make up exams or quizzes. A missed exam or quiz will receive a grade of zero. The final exam will be comprehensive.

Lab Accounts:

1. All other full time students should register for CS110L. This is a 1-unit class that is simply available for the purpose of issuing lab accounts. There are no classes or grades.

2. Part-time students may find it less expensive to pay a lab fee. Get details at the Computer Science Department office (MH208).
 

           o  No food or beverages in the lab.
           o  No one in the lab without an authorized lab attendant.
           o  Be sure to log out when you are done (very important).
           o  When I am lecturing and I want you to be listening, you should not be doing anything unrelated to class on the machines.
           o  Others will be explained as needed.
           o  A first violation will be forgiven. Subsequent violations will be penalized.
           o  This lab is not generally open. You may politely check for an available machine during the CS46B labs. Most instructors will let you work, if there is room. However, if the instructor says "no", you may not enter. Do not bother the lab instructors during the first two weeks, when everyone is busy with adds, drops, and paperwork.
 
 

Academic Integrity Policy: Academic integrity is essential to the mission of San José State University. Students are not permitted to use old tests, or quizzes when preparing for exams, nor may they consult with students who have already taken the exam.
