The Evaluation Process

To measure the extend to which MSCS graduates achieved program outcomes thesis committee members are asked to complete a survey at the end of the defense.

The survey form asks committee members if the thesis (or writing project) demonstrated good depth of knowledge and good technical communication skills, both written and oral. The response can be 1 = strongly disagree to 10 = strongly agree. Additional space is provided for comments.

Note: MSCS.OC1 (breadth of knowledge) is assumed to be achieved by the structure of the program. Namely, students are required to take six courses from at least three of six subject areas: Foundations, Architecture, Systems Software, Software Engineering, Specialty Courses, and Topics Courses.
