CS Home Page: Computer Resource Center: Labs: MH226

MH 226 is an open lab for use, free of charge, by CS majors. Volunteers from the CS Club serve as lab monitors to ensure the security of the room and to keep noise levels in the room low. Entrance to the MH 226 lab is via a connecting door from the CS Club room, MH 227. Hours of operation are subject to the availability of a volunteer lab monitor.

This lab contains four Hewlett-Packard PCs running Ubuntu Linux version 6.0, each with the following hardware configuration:

Pentium 3 500 Mhz, 128 Mb RAM, 8Gb hard drive

The same software that is available on the Linux PCs in the WSQ 1 lab is available on the MH 226 machines. Although no email service is provided, the Internet is accessible. Students may also use ssh to access other department machines for which they have an account.

Additional space is available for students to study and/or use their laptops.

The room itself is shared with the Math Club, with a partition separating the space used by each club.
