The formula to compute your final score is as follows (same as advertised on the "green sheet").
Quizzes: 10%
Count 1 point for each quiz and multiply by 10%/12pts. (Note, this provides for a possible 12 points).
Assignments: 10%
Add all assignment scores, multiply by 10%/50pts.
Midterm #1: 20%
Multiply M1 score by 20%/30pts.
Midterm #2: 20%
Multiply M2 score by 20%/30pts.
Final Exam: 40%
Multiply Final Exam score by 40%/54pts. (Assuming there are 54 questions on the final exam)
Add them up. Total possible is 100%.
Although the exact determination of letter grade will be not be determined until the course completions, and will be adjusted per your final exam, remaining quizzes (Q10 and Q11), and remaining assignment (A5) score, the following should provide a rough approximation to help you determine what grade you have earned thus far.
These are the percentages as of May 12, 2008. The guidelines below include zero scores for the following.
Q10: 0
Q11: 0
A5 : 0
FIN: 0
The guidelines are based on a calculation of the total grade percentage given above.
A: 40%, and higher
B: 35% and higher
C: 25% and higher
D: 0 and higher
F: N/A
Again, the final course grade determination may change. Also plus/minus designations for letter grade divisions will be determined only after the final exam and the final grade calculations.
Please note that your final letter grade will probably be lower due lack of attendance on quizzes or due to failure to submit assignments.
